About Carol

100_0772-300x225Acupuncturist Carol Hemauer, RN, L.Ac. Dipl.Ac., has over 25 years experience in health care.  She is a graduate of Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, earning a Master of Science Degree in Oriental Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition in 2010.  She is nationally board certified in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed to practice acupuncture in the State of Wisconsin. Carol studied advanced acupuncture and massage at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou, China in 2009, and continues to study Global Balance and Meridian Conversion acupuncture techniques with Master practitioner Dr. Richard Tan.  In 2011 Carol founded Westshore Acupuncture LLC in Oshkosh Wisconsin.  In 2012 the clinic expanded to meet the needs of current and past veterans with the Oshkosh Veterans Acupuncture Project, a community style acupuncture clinic supporting stress relief treatment for veterans and their family members. Prior to studying Chinese Medicine, Carol received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1995. She is a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin, and holds advanced certification in Operating Room Nursing, and Critical Care Nursing. Prior to her nursing career, Carol worked as a Radiologic Technologist for over 12 years. Carol serves on the faculty of Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine, Wisconsin as a Clinical Supervisor of the student-run clinic, and is a Nurse Clinician for the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Carol speaks on a variety of health topics to groups and student organizations, and holds off-site acupuncture clinics for various organizations.
